Vision
We envision a Lexington where streets are vibrant public places that bring people together and provide many safe and accessible transportation options.
Mission
Our mission is to build connections with neighbors to create lively, welcoming, and safe streets through small-scale community events, advocacy, and education.
Focus Areas
Placemaking and public art
Art in the right of way (or asphalt art) can make marginal spaces feel more like welcoming places, increase safety for all road users, and rightsize streets.
Our plan
Partner with neighborhoods and organizations to help implement asphalt art projects.

Open street events
Street festivals and events are a chance for a community to come together and celebrate on literal common ground. Events like this also show that streets can be so much more than a place to get cars through.
Our plan
Partner with neighborhoods and organizations to help host block parties.
Develop a block party toolkit.

Advocacy
Spreading the word about ongoing efforts and make people aware of opportunities to support community-oriented and street-improving policy.
Our plan
Organize an annual Week Without Driving campaign.
Distribute a regular newsletter about transportation-related issues, updates, and advocacy opportunities in Lexington.
